Look, this one has a little star!

My, what a lot of flowers there are!!

You cannot beat the wild flowers in Texas in the spring!!  This has been a GREAT year for them.  I have taken pictures every where I have gone.  I just love them!

The bluebonnets here on the ranch have just been gorgeous!  My camera does not do them justice!

Enjoy,

lovin' the spring flowers

I've been waiting for the bluebonnets to bloom for a couple of weeks now.   They are finally blooming!  They still have a ways to go before they are in full bloom, but they are still very pretty.  Roy and I went for a walk with the dogs yesterday.  There is a place where the bluebonnets were fairly thick and Lucy was standing in them.  When I tried to take a picture of her, she moved.  I still wanted the picture, so I took one of her posed.  In the mean time, Larry was in the back ground, sitting and staying, just like I was telling Lucy to do!  He's such a good dog!!

I took a few more pictures of the wild flowers today and yesterday.  These are some of my favorite wild flowers.

This week I will be posting the work of some fellow Etsy shop owners.  Please check back often and see who I have featured for the week.

spring is in the air

We've had a few sun shiny days lately and that always makes me want to get out and work in the garden.  However, it is still just February, so it is too early to work in the garden, so today I went out and took a few pictures of things that tell me that spring will be here soon.

This is a pesky little weed.  It's called hen bit and I'm not sure of the family that it belongs to, but it comes out early and adds a bit of green and lavender to the landscape.  The flowers are tiny.  I tolerate the hen bit in early spring, but as other flowers show up, the hen bit will have to go!!

This is a truly nuisance weed, mustard tansy, I think.  However, it is also adding a bit of color, so I will tolerate it for a while also.  It is serving a very good purpose right now though.  The bees love the tansy and since there are few things blooming now, the bees are staying around the tansy instead of me!!  And, let me tell you, that's a very good thing!

Ah, bluebonnets!  They are everywhere!!  They are almost solid in my garden.  We should have a beautiful spring as the bluebonnets have had the right kind of rains and weather for them this year.  My garden will be a solid mass of blue soon and it will be buzzing with bees and all kinds of other insects!

new to blogging

This is my 3rd attempt at putting up a blog. I think that I may be successful this time! I tried blog.com, which was a total failure because for some reason I could never get them to send my activation email. After numerous attempts to rectify that, I deleted that blog and went to Word Press. There I found that I had to download the program and that sounded like more than I wanted to do. A friend suggested that I try Blogger, so here I am.

I still have a lot to learn and am not deleting my WP blog as I think that I can be more artistic with WP and since this blog is going to be about art in my life, I think that the blog needs to be as pretty as possible. It will, however take me a while to get the WP blog up and running.

My blog will be my thoughts about art and life. Life will include things that occur as I go through my daily life. Some of that will be art and some of it will be things that I think are important that I want to share with the world. I hope that people will enjoy my blog and follow me as I go along.

The picture is of my garden this spring. I love gardening and it is art that I create with plants. I'm not totally responsible for the beautiful garden. Roy often gives me objects to put in my garden. But, the good Lord helps me a lot. In this case, he placed the wild bluebonnets and the verbenas in the garden. Also in the picture is my dog, Abraham.
